The radio shop I grew up in.

MGS Communications sells, installs, programs and repairs two-way radios and security systems in Albuquerque. My mom runs it. It has been answering its own phone since 1996, which is longer than most of the businesses it serves have existed.

What the shop does

  • Two-way radios — sales, programming, and fleet setup for crews that need to hear each other on a job site.
  • Security systems — cameras and access for local commercial customers.
  • Kenwood and Motorola authorized dealer — real dealer channel, not gray-market boxes.
  • Repairs, with loaners — courtesy loaner radios while yours is in the shop, subject to what is on the shelf.
  • Same-day service — when the calendar allows it, which in a local shop is most days.

My part in it

I am not the one behind the counter. I work on the modern side of the shop — the website, the equipment catalog, how repairs get tracked, and how pricing is put together so a quote takes minutes instead of an afternoon. Thirty years of doing it right, with tooling that does not fight the people using it.

If you need a radio

Go to the shop directly — quotes, catalog, repairs, service and billing all live over there, not on this page.
